Ladies and Gents,
It has been a great season of hockey for all of our teams. We have welcomed some new faces and sadly had to say goodbye to a few familiar ones. New heights have been reached in the tables, showing that the standard of Hockey that we play at the club is continuously improving.
Let me congratulate the newly qualified umpires this season and thank all umpires for their sterling efforts to enable us all to play the game we love so much. The club still has a shortage of umpires, so if you would like to get involved, there are courses coming up over the summer. Plus you could try out your skills during summer league. Please do get in contact if you would like more information.
May looks to be a busy month for the club. Many of you will be going on tour for the first bank holiday, some will be hopefully re-gaining the world record for longest game of hockey and others will be taking part in the various summer leagues. Another date for the diary is the 6thMay for the 2015 AGM, to be held at Bradley stoke cricket club. The agenda will be posted before the meeting, but as a heads up there are a few things to consider in advance of the meeting:
All nominated positions will be put to the vote, but we know that there are a number of committee positions becoming vacant. We thank these guys for their hard work and are sorry to see them go. The club needs these roles to be filled otherwise the hockey cannot continue. So please have a serious think if you would be prepared to take on some of the responsibility and give back to the club.

Also, for the new season, SGHC will be issuing the Club Constitution. A draft version is available for your review from the link. The appendix of fees will be updated subject to the outcome of the AGM, but is shown so that the format can be seen.
Please keep an eye on the website for the latest news from the club.
For those of you taking a rest over the summer, I wish you a happy holiday and look forward to seeing you all back on the pitch soon.
Best regards,
Tom Monaghan
